Notes INTRODUCTION TO STATISTICS
WELCOME TO INTRODUCTION TO STATISTICS
This course is designed to develop basic knowledge in statistics for students who are taking diploma or degree programs in business studies, business insurance, banking, marketing, public administration, accountancy, hotel management and tourism, applied science, computer science, quantitative methods, statistics, actuarial science and engineering programs in institute of higher learning.
This course contains 6 chapters. In each chapter, the concepts are explained clearly with suitable examples, tables and diagrams provided with interactive presentations.
This course introduces the basic statistical concepts in general applications. The topics include basic concepts of sampling methods, method of data collection, introductory methods in descriptive and inferential statistics. Specific topics include methods of describing data, correlation & regression analysis, time series analysis index numbers and probability. Students will be exposed to statistical project which involve analyzing secondary data in enhancing their understanding in solving real problems.
